Feeling ill

I just noticed that the Google ad bar I placed on my blog some time ago in a fit of poor judgment has dealt me a formidable blow. Yes, indeed...I am now advertising vaginal specula on my blog. Come one, come all, get yours while they're still cold! Special price for you today! Get your vaginal speculum here!

I must make this feeling of nausea go away, but I'm so dumbfounded that I can't decide whether to use my finger or the back of my toothbrush to gag myself. Any suggestions?

If you really need to vomit, might I suggest watching the movie "Glitter"?

Is that the one with Mariah Carey? I don't think I even need to see it...just imagining it is enough to elicit the gag reflex.

I hear they are making plastic speculums now so you don't have that icy cool feeling. I bet the metal one would help you gag better, though.

When I looked at the ad it was for Car Stereos. I think you are off the hook.

That sounds like a nightmare suffered by a long-time gynecologist. All of the women he has tortured return to him in his sleep, each bearing a cold steel speculum to ram down his throat. Yikes.

Carol -- the ad does not always appear, thankfully, as the Google ad bar targets content on the site but rotates the ads through so as to get more relevant coverage. Of course, the frequency with which the word "speculum" has now appeared on my blog means I'll soon be an e-commerce center for the speculum market. Nonetheless, I am off the hook.

And yes, I think the average gynecologist does use a plastic speculum these days.
