A good way to end the week

I'm officially finished with night float. No more nocturnal rotations, ever. My diurnal rhythms will henceforth be afforded the respect they deserve.

As an added bonus, in the past couple of days I've received acceptances from a couple of literary journals: an online flash fiction journal called HeavyGlow, and a print journal called Bellevue Literary Review. I've been trying for a couple of years now to break into BLR, so that's a great feeling. Two acceptances in one week, after nearly a year-long drought! Crazy.

Now, I sleep.

Children's is fine, though I'm still learning the ropes over there.

Hmm...It's a bit unnerving receiving an anonymous comment from someone who clearly knows me in real life.

That's not to say blogs aren't real life, but you know what I mean.

Perks of Children's: nice attendings; a cool fellow; good teaching environment; better hours; pretty nurses (so I've heard); patients who actually want to get out of the hospital; home call; no meth-head patients; and no Friday clinic.

Downside of Children's: no homemade cookies when JW is rotating at main hospital.

Sorry, Ian. Meant to just post once, under "GrayMatterWife."

This is why I usually post anonymously. Less chance I'll screw it up. Feel free to delete the duplicative, of course.

That's okay; this way it appears as if more people actually give a crap what I've written on here.
